Risks in Retail Shops
Till money is at risk
3'752 attacks to retail outlets were recorded in Germany in 2007 (Offical Police Statistics). About every hour one attack - trend to rise in whole Europe.
No chance for shop employees
Robbers that mostly use pistols or knifes are not discouraged by the existing security measures like cameras or immergency alert to the police. Shop employees are forced to give the cash from tills or safes and may even risk their life. Retail customers in the shop share the same risk.
Subsequent damage of an attack
- The stolen cash
- Damage to installations and buildings
- Intimidated customers
- Temporary interruption of business
- Shocked or injured employees
- Negative news
- Loss of turnover (for a short time to whole retail chain)
- More investments in not effective measures
- More salary costs during off-peak times
